The Town Office is located at 10 Post Office Road and the hours of service are from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. Lunch is 12:00 noon – 1:00 p.m.
Town water is available throughout the town. Sunnyside has a surface water supply. In 2016, Sunnyside introduced an innovative water system that uses hydrogen peroxide to keep our water healthy and free of harmful byproducts.
Town sewage is available in most, but not all, areas.
The main road through town is paved and repaired by the Department of Transportation and Works (provincial government). Side streets are owned by the Town.

Garbage is collected weekly by Eastern Waste Management for transport to a centralized facility in St. John’s. Please go to www.easternwaste.ca for schedules, recycling and hazardous waste information. Sunnyside is in the Isthmus area.
The Sunnyside Waste Management Recovery Facility is run by Eastern Waste Management. It is located opposite the weigh scales on the Trans Canada Highway. Its hours of operation are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For additional information, please contact Eastern Waste Management at 709-579-7960.
A recycling program is run by Sunnyside Recreation Committee. Plastic bottles and glass bottles can be dropped off in the small green shed behind the fire hall. Cardboard and other recyclables are collected through the normal garbage collection process. Proceeds from recycling are used for recreation activities.
